Lizards represent many things to many cultures. This makes lizard symbolism not only diverse but also complex and intricate.
Lizards are pretty common in nature, but they are one misunderstood bunch.

In many countries, lizards are regarded as a symbol of rebirth and guardian of the home. The Chinese consider lizard to be baby dragons .It is considered very lucky for pregnant women to see lizards. The lizard’s symbolism is linked to the sun, light, regeneration, and renewal. It is a symbol of good fortune in some cultures but also of death and uncleanliness in others.

According to Sri Lankan beliefs, a lizard’s position on your body determines wealth, health, love or illness and poverty.
The Toba Batak tribe in Indonesia believes that lizards spiritually safeguard the household’s essential source of food which is associated with the Earth goddess, Boraspati.

Thais believe it is bad luck for lizards to falls on one’s head.
Dreaming about a lizard could also mean that one should anticipate a tense situation in life. Nevertheless, if you remain alert and determined, you can ward off any trouble.


However, if one were to take the dream positively, it could mean that a lizard knows how to swim against the tide and defies gravity by moving vertically upwards or even upside down while crawling on the roof.
